# Terms and Conditions Business Name: JJ&L Lawncare Website:jjl-lawncare.com Contact: [email protected] These Terms and Conditions explain how our lawn and yard services work. Please read them before requesting or accepting a job. By submitting a quote request, accepting an estimate, scheduling a job, or allowing us to perform work, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. --- 1. Who We Are JJ&L Lawncare is a local student-run lawn and light yard cleanup service. We provide basic outdoor help such as mowing, trimming, edging, light cleanup, weed pulling, mulch spreading, and similar simple yard work. We are not a full landscaping company, tree service, construction company, hauling company, pesticide company, or emergency cleanup service. Because this is a youth-run business, certain jobs may require review or approval by a parent/guardian or adult administrator before we accept the work. --- 2. Services We Offer We may offer the following services, depending on job size, safety, weather, and availability: * Lawn mowing * String trimming * Edging sidewalks and driveways * Blowing grass clippings from sidewalks and driveways * Weed pulling by hand * Flower bed cleanup * Dead plant removal * Stick and small branch cleanup from the ground * Leaf cleanup * Mulch spreading * Patio, sidewalk, and driveway sweeping * Light yard debris bagging * Limited flat-surface concrete pressure washing, if approved * Other simple yard cleanup services approved in writing The exact work included in your job will be listed in your estimate or job description. --- 3. Services We Do Not Offer For safety and legal reasons, we do not provide the following services: * Tree cutting or tree trimming * Chainsaw work * Roof work * Gutter cleaning * Ladder work * Chemical weed killer, pesticide, herbicide, or fertilizer application * Major hauling or dump runs * Hazardous waste cleanup * Mold cleanup * Animal carcass removal * Cleanup of needles, chemicals, fuel, oil, broken glass, or unknown dangerous materials * Heavy brush clearing * Construction, grading, drainage, or retaining wall work * House siding pressure washing * Deck pressure washing * Work around unsecured aggressive pets * Any work we believe is unsafe or outside our ability If a job turns out to include unsafe or excluded work, we may pause, change, or decline the job. --- 4. Quotes and Estimates All prices are based on the information available when we provide the estimate. Your estimate may consider: * Yard size * Grass height * Amount of trimming needed * Amount of debris or cleanup needed * Gate access * Slopes or difficult terrain * Dog waste or pet issues * Weather or ground conditions * Materials needed * Photos or site review An estimate is not final until we confirm it in writing. If the job is different from what was described, or if we find hidden problems, extra debris, unsafe conditions, or additional work requested by the customer, the price may change before we continue. We will not knowingly perform extra paid work without confirming the updated price first. --- 5. Customer Responsibilities Before we arrive, the customer is responsible for making sure the work area is ready and safe. Please remove or secure: * Toys * Hoses * Extension cords * Dog chains * Lawn decorations * Rocks or loose objects * Tools * Furniture * Sprinklers or irrigation items that are not clearly visible * Pet waste, unless pet waste cleanup is separately requested and approved * Fragile items near the work area Pets must be secured indoors, in a crate, or in a separate area away from the crew. The customer must tell us about known hazards, including: * Hidden wires * Sprinkler heads * Holes in the yard * Bee or wasp nests * Poison ivy or harmful plants * Sharp objects * Unsafe gates or fences * Aggressive pets * Wet, muddy, or unstable areas If the area is not safe or ready, we may reschedule, skip part of the job, or charge an additional cleanup or delay fee. --- 6. Hidden Objects and Property Conditions We will make reasonable efforts to check the work area before starting. However, we are not responsible for damage caused by hidden, buried, covered, or hard-to-see objects left in the yard or work area. Examples include: * Toys hidden in tall grass * Hoses hidden under grass or leaves * Rocks, metal, or glass * Low sprinkler heads * Invisible edging * Buried wires or cables * Loose decorations * Items hidden under leaves, weeds, or debris Customers are responsible for clearing and identifying these items before the job begins. --- 7. Dog Waste and Pet Areas Mowing or trimming through pet waste is unsafe, unsanitary, and can damage equipment. If dog waste is present in the work area, we may: * Ask the customer to clean it before service * Skip that section of the yard * Add a separate pet waste cleanup fee if approved * Reschedule the job * Decline the job if the area is excessive or unsafe Pet waste cleanup, when offered, is a separate service and must be approved before work begins. --- 8. Weather and Scheduling Outdoor work depends on weather and ground conditions. We may reschedule, delay, or cancel service because of: * Rain * Lightning * Extreme heat * Wet or muddy ground * High winds * Poor visibility * Unsafe working conditions * Equipment problems * Crew illness or emergency We will try to notify the customer as soon as reasonably possible if the schedule changes. We are not responsible for delays caused by weather, unsafe conditions, or circumstances outside our control. --- 9. Access to the Property The customer must make sure we can access the work area at the scheduled time. This includes: * Unlocking gates * Providing gate codes if needed * Securing pets * Moving vehicles or obstacles * Making sure outdoor water access is available if needed for approved pressure washing If we cannot access the property or work area, we may charge a missed-visit fee or reschedule the job. --- 10. Materials and Supplies For jobs involving mulch, bags, or other materials, the estimate will state who is responsible for purchasing those materials. Unless otherwise agreed: * The customer pays for mulch and other materials. * Materials must be paid for before we purchase or pick them up. * We may require a deposit before any material-based job. * Any unused customer-owned materials remain the customer's property. We are not responsible for defects, color differences, quality issues, or shortage problems with materials selected or supplied by the customer. --- 11. Payment Terms Payment is due when the job is completed unless another arrangement is approved in writing. Accepted payment methods may include: * Cash * Venmo * Other payment methods approved by us Payment instructions will be shown on the invoice or job confirmation. If payment is not received, we may pause future service until the balance is paid. For recurring customers, unpaid balances may result in cancelled or delayed future visits. --- 12. Estimates, Invoices, and Price Changes An estimate is our best price based on the information available before the job. An invoice is the amount due for the work actually approved and completed. The final price may change if: * The customer requests extra work * The property condition is different from what was described * Grass or weeds are more overgrown than expected * More cleanup is needed than expected * Unsafe or difficult conditions are found * Materials or disposal needs change * The customer asks us to return for additional work Any major price change should be approved before the extra work is performed. --- 13. Cancellations and Rescheduling Customers should give as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule. We may reschedule or cancel a job if: * Weather makes the job unsafe or unreasonable * The work area is not ready * Pets are not secured * The job is outside the agreed scope * Required materials are not available * Payment is overdue from a previous job * We determine the job is unsafe For larger jobs, material-based jobs, or jobs requiring special scheduling, a cancellation fee may apply if materials were purchased or the crew already arrived. --- 14. Work Quality and Satisfaction We aim to do careful, honest, and clean work. If the customer has a concern, they should contact us as soon as possible after the job is completed. We may, at our choice: * Return to fix a reasonable missed item * Offer a partial adjustment * Explain why the requested work was outside the approved scope * Decline additional unpaid work We do not guarantee perfect results when the yard is overgrown, wet, uneven, full of debris, poorly maintained, or unsafe. --- 15. Photos and Job Documentation We may take before and after photos for: * Job documentation * Estimate review * Completion records * Payment or dispute records * Internal training and quality control We will not publicly share photos that clearly show private personal information, addresses, license plates, people, children, or sensitive details without permission. If we want to use photos for public marketing, we will avoid showing identifying information unless the customer gives permission. --- 16. Safety Comes First We may stop or refuse work if we believe conditions are unsafe. Unsafe conditions may include: * Lightning or severe weather * Aggressive animals * Hazardous trash * Sharp objects * Chemical containers * Excessive dog waste * Unknown waste piles * Unsafe structures * Very steep or unstable ground * Requests for excluded work * Any condition that puts the crew, customer, property, or equipment at unreasonable risk The crew's safety is more important than finishing a job. --- 17. Pressure Washing Limitations If pressure washing is offered, it is limited to approved flat outdoor surfaces such as concrete driveways, sidewalks, or patios. We do not pressure wash: * House siding * Roofs * Windows * Electrical areas * Decks * Painted surfaces * Fragile surfaces * Areas with loose material or damage Pressure washing can sometimes reveal existing cracks, stains, weak concrete, peeling paint, or other surface issues. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or conditions revealed during cleaning. --- 18. Liability Limits We will use reasonable care while performing approved work. However, to the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not responsible for: * Pre-existing damage * Hidden objects * Items left in the work area * Damage caused by inaccurate customer information * Damage caused by unsafe or poor property conditions * Weather-related delays * Normal wear from yard work * Plant stress or damage when weeds, vines, or overgrowth are tangled with desired plants * Missed items outside the approved scope If damage occurs and we are responsible, the customer's remedy is limited to the amount paid for the specific job unless otherwise required by law. Some states do not allow certain liability limits, so this section applies only as much as the law allows. --- 19. Customer Information and Privacy We collect only the information needed to provide service, such as: * Name * Phone number * Email * Address * Property notes * Job photos * Payment status * Service history We use this information to manage quotes, jobs, scheduling, invoices, payments, safety, and customer communication. We do not sell customer information. Customer information is only shared when needed to operate the service, comply with law, resolve a dispute, or protect safety. --- 20. Website Use Customers agree not to misuse the website. Do not: * Submit false information * Use another person's account without permission * Upload harmful files * Attempt to access private customer or business data * Interfere with the website's operation * Use the website for illegal or harmful purposes We may suspend or remove access if someone misuses the website. --- 21. Accounts and Login Customers may need an account to view estimates, accept terms, schedule jobs, or view invoices. Customers are responsible for keeping their login information secure. If a customer believes their account has been accessed without permission, they should contact us. --- 22. Right to Refuse Service We may refuse, cancel, or stop service for any lawful reason, including: * Unsafe conditions * Out-of-scope work * Disrespectful or threatening behavior * Unpaid balances * Repeated cancellations * Inaccurate job descriptions * Properties outside our service area * Requests that require tools, licenses, or skills we do not provide --- 23. Minors and Adult Oversight Because this is a student-run business, some business activities may be reviewed or managed by a parent, guardian, or adult administrator. Customers agree that communication, payment confirmation, job approval, safety review, and dispute handling may involve an adult administrator. Customers should not request that the crew perform unsafe, illegal, or age-inappropriate work. --- 24. Changes to These Terms We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will be posted on the website. For a specific accepted estimate or scheduled job, the terms accepted at the time of approval will generally apply unless a change is required by law or agreed to by the customer. --- 25.
